Biography Pawel Dłotko

Paweł Dłotko is a professor and director of the Dioscuri Centre in Topological Data Analysis in Warsaw (dioscuri-tda.org). He received his PhD in mathematics from the Jagiellonian University in Kraków in 2012, followed by postdoctoral positions at the University of Pennsylvania and Inria Saclay, and a senior lectureship at Swansea University.

His expertise lies in topological data analysis (TDA), with contributions ranging from the creation of new shape descriptors and visualization methods for high-dimensional data to pioneering the integration of topology with statistics and machine learning. He has developed tools such as Ball Mapper, advanced the use of Euler characteristic curves and profiles, and worked on other topological signatures for both static and dynamical datasets. His methods are motivated by real-world challenges and have found applications in medicine, physics, biology, materials science, finance, and economics.
