1What is ICIAM 2027?
ICIAM 2027 is the 11th International Congress on Industrial and Applied Mathematics. The congress will take place from 12 to 16 July 2027 in The Hague, The Netherlands, and will gather the global community of applied and industrial mathematicians.
2Who is invited to attend?
The congress welcomes researchers, educators, students, and professionals from academia, research institutes, government, and industry who share an interest in applied mathematics and its many real-world applications.
3What is the theme of ICIAM 2027?
The theme of ICIAM 2027 is Mathematics for a Sustainable Future.
4What is the official language of the congress?
All sessions, presentations, and official communications will be conducted in English.

1When does registration open?
Registration for ICIAM 2027 opens on 8 September 2026.
2What are the registration deadlines?

3What is included in the registration fee?
All registration categories include:
- Name badge
- Coffee breaks
- Access to the Exhibition
- Access to the Scientific Programme
- Access to the Welcome Reception and Closing Reception
4Are lunches included in the registration fee?
No. Lunch is not included in the registration fee.
During registration, participants can purchase a vegetarian lunch package for each congress day.
In addition, multiple food trucks will be available on-site where participants can purchase lunch directly. Please note that food truck options cannot guarantee the absence of traces of gluten and/or nuts.

5Can I bring an accompanying person?
Yes. If you wish to bring an accompanying person (such as your partner, spouse, or a family member) to the Welcome Reception and/or Closing Reception you can indicate this during registration under the Social Activities section. An extra fee applies. Access to the scientific programme requires a congress registration.
6Do speakers need to register?
Yes. All Mini Symposium speakers and Poster Presenters are required to register for the congress.
7Can I request a Letter of Invitation?
If you require a Letter of Invitation for a visa application, you can request one during the registration process.
Please note that your registration fee must be fully paid before a visa invitation letter can be issued.
Processing times for visa applications vary by country and embassy. Participants are therefore strongly encouraged to register and submit their visa application as early as possible.

Payment & Cancellation
1What are the payment types for registration?
We accept payments by credit card, Google Pay and iDEAL/Wero.
2Will I receive an invoice?
Your invoice will automatically be enclosed with your registration confirmation email.
3My payment failed. What should I do?
Please try again using an alternative payment method. If the problem persists, contact the ICIAM 2027 Secretariat.
4I have paid but not received a confirmation email. What should I do?
Please check your spam or junk mail folder first. If you cannot locate the confirmation email, contact the ICIAM 2027 Secretariat.
5Event Cancellation & Refund Policy
Please note that notification of registration cancellation must be sent by email to
ICIAM@congressbydesign.com.
This cancellation policy applies only to the congress registration fee and does not apply to additional purchases such as the welcome and closing reception. These items are non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
For cancellations received up to and including 1 March 2027, a cancellation fee of 25% will be charged. For cancellations received on and after 2 March 2027, no refund will be given, the full amount is required. Name changes are not accepted, unless the participant is from the same company. A handling fee of EUR 40 per registration will be charged for every modification received after 1 March 2027. All refunds will be processed after the congress

6Cancellation by the ICIAM organizers
If the ICIAM Congress is cancelled due to force majeure, ICIAM will make every effort to refund as much of the registration fee as possible, taking into account non-recoverable organizational costs including but not limited to administrative fees.

If the ICIAM Congress cannot take place in whole or in part due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of ICIAM, including but not limited to:

Apart from the reimbursement of registration fees as outlined above, participants shall not be entitled to any further claims or compensation due to the cancellation, modification, or postponement of the event.
Modification of Programme & Format
ICIAM reserves the right to modify the format, schedule, or programme of the congress as necessary. A change in format does not entitle participants to a refund.
Liability Disclaimer
ICIAM takes all reasonable care in making arrangements for the congress but shall not be responsible for any injury, illness, property damage, or other losses sustained by participants due to circumstances beyond its control.
Force Majeure Definition
If the ICIAM Congress cannot take place in whole or in part due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of ICIAM, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters (earthquakes, floods, hurricanes, etc.)
- Public health emergencies, pandemics, or epidemics
- War, acts of terrorism, riots, or civil unrest
- Government-imposed travel restrictions, lockdowns, or venue closures
- Strikes or labor disputes affecting essential services
- Adverse weather conditions that make the event unfeasible

Abstract Submission
1What types of submissions are accepted?
For ICIAM 2027, participants may submit either:
- A Mini Symposium Proposal
- A Poster Presentation Abstract
2Can I submit both a Mini Symposium and a Poster Presentation?
No. Participants may only participate as presenter in one contribution.
3What is the abstract submission deadline?
Abstract submission is open now. The submission deadline is 7 December 2026 (23:59 CET).
4When will acceptance decisions be announced?
Notification of acceptance or rejection is scheduled for mid-January 2027.
5Can I modify my abstract after submission?
Participants may update their submission until the submission deadline. To make changes, please log in to the submission portal using the credentials that were used to create the original submission.
6Can I withdraw my abstract submission?
Yes. If you wish to withdraw your abstract submission, please contact the ICIAM 2027 Secretariat.
Mini Symposium Proposals
1What is a Mini Symposium?
A Mini Symposium consists of a coordinated set of 4 to 8 presentations on a focused topic in industrial and applied mathematics.
2How many organisers are required?
Each Mini Symposium must have a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 organisers.
3How many speakers are required?
Each Mini Symposium must contain exactly:
- 4 speakers, or
- 8 speakers
4What happens when a Mini Symposium is accepted?
All speakers of accepted Mini Symposia will be required to register for the congress and submit their individual abstracts.
5What happens if one of the speakers is unable to participate?
Please contact the congress secretariat. Requests will be evaluated individually.
Poster Presentations
1What is a Poster Presentation?
A Poster Presentation allows participants to present their research in an interactive format during the congress.
2How many presenting authors are allowed?
Each Poster Presentation may have only one presenting author.
3Can I submit multiple poster abstracts?
No. Participants may only submit one poster abstract. Participants may be co-authors on multiple submissions, but may only present one contribution.
Grants
1Can I apply for a grant?
Yes. The grant programme is intended for researchers of any nationality and professional situation needing financial and travel support to attend the ICIAM 2027 Congress.
Grant applications can only be submitted after a Poster Presentation Abstract or Mini Symposium Proposal has been submitted.

Yes. Grant recipients must complete their congress registration and pay the applicable registration fee before 9 February 2027.

1Where can I book accommodation?

2How can I travel to The Hague?
The Hague is easily accessible by air, rail and road. The city is well connected to major Dutch and international destinations and can be reached through Amsterdam Airport Schiphol, Rotterdam The Hague Airport, and extensive national and international rail networks.
3How do I plan public transport in The Hague?
The Hague has an extensive public transport network of trams and buses operated by HTM, providing connections between the congress venue, hotels, the city centre and Scheveningen beach.
Visitors can travel using OVpay, which allows check-in and check-out with a contactless debit card, credit card or mobile phone. For route planning and travel information, participants can use NS.nl, 9292.nl or use Google Maps.
