Prof. Heather Harrington is a Director at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics and Center for Systems Biology Dresden, Professor of Mathematics in the University of Oxford and Honorary Professor in the Faculty of Mathematics at the Technical University of Dresden. She leads the Algebraic Systems Biology group, which combines computational algebra, topological data analysis, combinatorics with dynamical systems and biological data.

Her research is devoted to developing new mathematical theory and methodologies to solve real-world problems arising in the biological, life and medical sciences.
